What Brazilian commerce teams watch: marketplaces, instalments and public reputation
Brazil's online retail runs through marketplaces such as Mercado Livre, Shopee and Amazon.com.br alongside retailers like Magalu and Casas Bahia, and much of the selling happens in instalments or with Pix discounts. Many customers also check a brand on Reclame Aqui before buying. Teams monitoring prices, ads and reputation here need Portuguese-language setups, city-aware checks and a clear view of LGPD.
Who sells online
Mercado Livre, Shopee and Amazon.com.br host large seller bases, while Magalu and Casas Bahia combine their own stock with marketplace sellers. Brand teams usually watch all five for unauthorised resellers, copied photos and pricing below agreed levels, and cross-check results on Buscapé or Zoom.
Reputation is public
Reclame Aqui publishes customer complaints alongside company responses and reputation scores. Customer-experience and brand teams follow their own and competitors' pages there; keep the work to public pages, and treat complainants' names as personal data under LGPD.
Ads, WhatsApp and key dates
Alongside Google and Meta, Mercado Ads sells sponsored listings inside Mercado Livre, and WhatsApp is a standard sales and service channel. Black Friday in November and Consumer Day in mid-March are the dates when prices and placements change quickly.
Consumer and privacy rules
The Consumer Defence Code gives online buyers seven days to withdraw from a purchase, and displayed prices include taxes. LGPD, enforced by the ANPD, covers personal data even when it's publicly visible, which is why complaint pages need care in any client report.
