Craigslist proxies for business teams

Post and check Craigslist ads city by city for a local business, on Residential Premium IPs and within Craigslist's posting rules.

What teams use Craigslist proxies for

Marketplace and e-commerce teams use them to see listings, prices, delivery promises and search placement the way shoppers in each market do, and to test their own storefronts before a launch.

▸ Business listings posted by hand
▸ Listings for several city locations
▸ Phone-verified business accounts
▸ Staff posting accounts under Craigslist's rules

Craigslist for local businesses: posting rules, paid categories and ad checks

Businesses use Craigslist to advertise jobs, rentals, vehicles and services to people in a specific area. The rules shape the workflow more than any tool does: post only where the item, job or service actually is, avoid cross-posting, and pay where a category carries a fee. Third-party posting software isn't allowed without Craigslist's agreement, so a team's proxy plan is about checking ads, not placing them.

One local post per item

Craigslist lists overposted, cross-posted and nonlocal content as prohibited, so a property manager with units in three cities posts each unit once, in its own city. Flagged posts that do follow the rules can be reworded and posted again, which beats repeating identical ads.

Paid categories and fees

Some categories carry a fee that varies by location, such as job ads and dealer listings; the price appears when you choose the category, and you pay as you post. A paid ad can't be moved back to the top, so budget a fresh purchase for each repost.

Checking live ads locally

After publishing, view each ad as a local reader would, from a residential IP in that city: does it sit in the right category, do the photos load, and does a reply reach your inbox? Do it by hand, since Craigslist's terms cover automated searching as well.

Account hygiene

Run postings from a business account with a real contact address, and keep its login with the people who actually post. The terms prohibit misleading accounts and buying or selling accounts, and a proxy changes nothing about either.

The plan we suggest for Craigslist

We suggest Residential Premium here. It is our higher-trust residential tier, built for demanding sites and for client work where a page that fails to load costs more than the higher per-GB rate. Craigslist tends to remove listings posted from datacenter IPs almost at once. For legitimate business posting, Residential Premium's household IPs with sticky sessions are the dependable choice; a separate static ISP plan isn't something we offer.

✓

Reliable listing delivery

Household IPs fit the ordinary-user profile Craigslist's post filter expects, so genuine listings are less likely to be pulled. Ad wording and category still decide most outcomes.

✓

City-level IPs

Post from an IP in the city the ad is for, so the poster, the listing and the local section line up, as Craigslist expects.

✓

Dedicated IPs

Residential Premium draws on a selected tier of household IPs, chosen for sites where standard pools see more failed requests, which suits posting work where an address's history matters.

✓

Auto-poster ready

The proxies connect to common posting tools, but Craigslist's terms don't allow third-party posting software without its permission, so check before using one. Most small teams post by hand.

Matching each job to a plan

Most teams run more than one kind of job. Data is bought per plan, so volume checks can sit on a lower-cost plan while the jobs that need a household or carrier connection get one.

Several markets, one order

MIX packages are ready-made residential pools covering several countries at once, so a multi-market report can run from a single order.

Getting the team set up

Four steps take a team from order to first check, using the browsers and tools it already works with.

1

Size the order

Start on Residential Premium, the plan suggested above, and choose how many gigabytes the work needs. The proxy calculator shows the total first.

2

Pay by card or crypto

Stripe handles card payments and Cryptomus handles crypto. Each order is a one-off, valid for 30 days, with no subscription to cancel.

3

Set the market

Choose countries in the dashboard after payment, so one order can serve one client market this week and another the next. If a job needs a single city, ask support whether the network covers it.

4

Give the team access

The dashboard shows the login details once the payment has gone through. Pass them to the colleagues who need them, or whitelist the office IP so nobody has to type a password.

Rotation or a sticky session?

  • ▸Per-request rotation moves every request to a different IP. Use it for wide, read-only sweeps of public pages, such as price lists or search results.
  • ▸Sticky sessions hold one IP for a window you choose, typically 1-30 minutes, for signed-in or multi-step tasks such as stepping through a client's checkout.

Both are switched in the dashboard, and the options on offer depend on the plan. Keep request rates modest either way.

Signing in

  • ▸Username and password in the host:port:user:pass format that browsers, browser-profile tools and monitoring software accept.
  • ▸IP whitelist: add your office or server address in the dashboard, and anything connecting from it gets in without credentials, which suits shared office lines and scheduled jobs.

Both work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and the protocol can be changed later in the dashboard at no extra charge.

Match the IP to the market you report on

Search rankings, prices, ads and even which products appear can change with the visitor's country. Set the IP to the market your client or campaign targets, and the screenshots and figures your team files will line up with what customers there are shown.

  • ✓55+ countries to choose from.
  • ✓City-level targeting where the network supports it.
  • ✓One country per check keeps month-on-month results comparable.

United States United Kingdom Germany France Canada Australia Netherlands India Brazil Singapore

When a report doesn't match what the client sees on the ground, the IP's country is one of the first things to check.

How the four plans compare

Every plan bills per GB. The highlighted row is the plan we suggest for this work.

Plan Trust level Speed Cost From, per GB Where it fits
Datacenter Standard ★★★★★ $ $3.50 Bulk page checks, rank tracking and QA on your own sites
Residential High ★★★ $$ $3.99 Local prices, search results, ads and marketplaces
Residential Premium Suggested Very high ★★★★ $$$ $6.50 Demanding sites, brand protection and client work
Mobile 4G/5G Very high ★★★ $$$$ $4.50 Apps built for phones and ads served on mobile networks

The rate charged is the one shown for the live plan at checkout.

Keeping Craigslist work within the rules

We sell these proxies for legitimate business work: market and price research, ad verification, SEO, brand protection, QA and compliant automation, including running your own accounts inside each platform's rules. Whatever your team does through them has to stay within the terms of service of every site involved and the law that applies to you and your clients.

  • ✓Collect only publicly available information, and pace requests so the site isn't put under strain.
  • ✓No proxy can promise that an account escapes action by the platform. That depends mostly on how the account is used and whether it follows the terms.
  • ✓Personal details in collected pages, such as names, contact details or reviews, bring data-protection duties with them. Agree with your legal team what you keep and for how long.

The full rules are in our acceptable use policy.

Craigslist proxies: questions from team leads

Craigslist holds some new posts for manual review by its staff, and approved posts are generally moved to the top when released. Reload the held post to check its status. A proxy won't speed this up; accurate categories and plain, specific ad text are what keep posts out of trouble.
City targeting on residential is the one feature that matters, and Craigslist pages are light, mostly text with a few photos, so data use stays small. Pick the cities where you advertise and keep a sticky session for each city you check. Viewing your own ads needs neither mobile 4G/5G nor the premium tier.
Posts from datacenter IPs are removed often, and household IPs cut that down. Content quality, posting frequency and the right category matter just as much, so follow Craigslist's posting rules.
We strongly recommend it: Craigslist treats a match between the IP's city and the listing's city as a major signal.
No. Cross-contamination between accounts that share an IP is a common cause of restrictions, so each posting account should have its own.
Not really. They cost more and change IP too often for long posting sessions; sticky sessions on Residential Premium suit the work better.

Refunds

Proxies that fail on arrival can be reported to support for up to 24 hours after delivery. Support swaps them, and where a working swap isn't possible, refunds the affected amount. Details are in the refund policy.

Support

People answer tickets 24/7. Open one from the Support page in your dashboard and include the order reference.

Logs

Our records cover billing and how much bandwidth each order used. The URLs, page content and destinations your team reaches are never logged.
