China's separate platforms, and how brands monitor them

Selling or advertising into mainland China means working in an ecosystem largely separate from the global one. Search runs on Baidu, social commerce on Douyin, WeChat and Xiaohongshu, and retail on Tmall, JD and Pinduoduo. Mainland IPs show storefronts, renminbi prices and promotions as Chinese shoppers get them, from behind the same firewall that blocks Google and Meta there.

Flagship stores, live streams and notes

Tmall and JD for brand flagship stores, Pinduoduo for discount pricing, Douyin for live-stream shopping, and Xiaohongshu for product discovery and reviews. Unauthorised sellers and look-alike listings turn up on all of them, so brand protection has to cover the whole set.

Ad platforms are domestic

Paid media goes through Baidu's search ads, Ocean Engine for ByteDance apps such as Douyin, Tencent Ads for WeChat and QQ, and Alimama for Alibaba's marketplaces. Verification therefore needs mainland IPs, and often happens inside apps rather than on web pages.

Singles' Day and the June sale

Singles' Day in November and JD's mid-year sale in June are the headline price events, with pre-sales opening weeks earlier. Price teams plan heavier monitoring around both, in Simplified Chinese and renminbi.

Regulation and access

PIPL governs personal information and restricts moving it out of China. Keeping datasets to public prices, listings and ad placements also sidesteps cross-border transfer questions. Expect some content behind logins that are often tied to a Chinese phone number.

Logins arrive as host:port:user:password, ready to load into the SEO, ad or pricing software your team uses, or a browser profile. Confirm the exit location with our My IP tool.

Use the proxies for legitimate work on publicly available pages, within each site’s terms and applicable law; see our acceptable use policy.

Questions buyers ask about China proxies

Partly. Some content has public web pages, such as WeChat official account articles and Douyin's web version, but much of it lives inside apps and behind logins. A mainland IP shows you the local web view; it doesn't replace an account, and creating accounts to collect data must follow each platform's terms.
Not for mainland results. Baidu rankings, Tmall prices and mainland ad placements depend on a mainland location, and Hong Kong sits outside the firewall with its own currency and Traditional Chinese. Use mainland IPs for what Chinese consumers see, and keep Hong Kong IPs for Hong Kong itself.
Pay by card through Stripe or in cryptocurrency through Cryptomus. There is no contract, subscription or setup fee: each order runs for 30 days, after which any unused data lapses.
Email info@cheapest-proxies.com within 24 hours of delivery. Proxies that are dead on arrival are replaced, and where working replacements cannot be supplied, the affected part of the order is refunded.
