Data Collection proxies for business teams

Residential proxies for research, analytics and AI teams gathering public web data across regions, keeping datasets representative and collection within site terms.

From $3.99 per GB · in your dashboard once payment clears · 99.9% uptime

What teams use Data Collection proxies for

Search, research and data teams use them to load public pages from the right location at the volume a report needs, from rankings and ads to prices, competitor pages and QA runs, within each site's terms.

▸ Training data from public pages
▸ Academic and commercial studies
▸ Archiving public web content
▸ Trend and sentiment tracking

Research data gathering for teams

Research, analytics and data teams gather public web content for studies, trend work and model inputs, and the regions they collect from shape what a dataset can claim to represent. Many sources show different content by location, so residential exits across markets return the public pages a local user sees. Published datasets come first wherever they cover the need.

Decide coverage, then regions

Agree what the dataset must represent, then assign residential exits across the regions it should cover. Planning the geographic spread up front gives analysts a corpus they can defend rather than one skewed by where it was collected.

Document your sources

Keep a register of every source, the date collected, the terms that applied and any opt-out found in robots.txt. Reviewers, clients and ethics boards ask for this provenance, and it is far easier to record during collection than to rebuild afterwards.

Match the plan to the sources

Sources that change by region need residential data; ones that serve every visitor identically can run on datacenter, billed at a lower rate per gigabyte. Store raw pages once and reprocess them locally, so a parser change never means paying to fetch the same pages twice.

Collect within the rules

Draw on content that sources publish publicly, stay inside their terms of service, and follow the law that applies to you. Defensible sourcing matters as much to a research team as the data it gathers.

The plan we suggest for Data Collection

We suggest Residential here. Traffic leaves through household broadband connections in the country you pick, so pages load as they would for an ordinary customer there. A dataset is only as representative as the places it was gathered from, and many sources change content by region or throttle repeat visits. Residential IPs across regions return what a real user in each one sees, so studies and models get complete samples, collected within each site's terms of service.

✓

Representative samples

A model trained on one country's web learns one country's habits. Gathering public pages across many regions gives research and training sets the geographic spread real use will have.

✓

Rotating at scale

Big corpora are built over weeks, not in a single pull. Rotation through the residential pool keeps high-volume collection running at a steady cadence the project plan can rely on.

✓

Geo-aware coverage

Some public content only appears to visitors in its own country. Country targeting lets the project list those regions explicitly and collect what each one shows.

✓

Pipeline compatible

Engineering doesn't need to rebuild anything: Scrapy jobs, Requests scripts, headless browsers and the wider data pipeline take the proxy as one HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 setting.

Matching each job to a plan

Most teams run more than one kind of job. Data is bought per plan, so volume checks can sit on a lower-cost plan while the jobs that need a household or carrier connection get one.

Several markets, one order

MIX packages are ready-made residential pools covering several countries at once, so a multi-market report can run from a single order.

Getting the team set up

Four steps take a team from order to first check, using the browsers and tools it already works with.

1

Size the order

Start on Residential, the plan suggested above, and choose how many gigabytes the work needs. The proxy calculator shows the total first.

2

Pay by card or crypto

Stripe handles card payments and Cryptomus handles crypto. Each order is a one-off, valid for 30 days, with no subscription to cancel.

3

Set the market

Choose countries in the dashboard after payment, so one order can serve one client market this week and another the next. If a job needs a single city, ask support whether the network covers it.

4

Give the team access

The dashboard shows the login details once the payment has gone through. Pass them to the colleagues who need them, or whitelist the office IP so nobody has to type a password.

Rotation or a sticky session?

  • ▸Per-request rotation moves every request to a different IP. Use it for wide, read-only sweeps of public pages, such as price lists or search results.
  • ▸Sticky sessions hold one IP for a window you choose, typically 1-30 minutes, for signed-in or multi-step tasks such as stepping through a client's checkout.

Both are switched in the dashboard, and the options on offer depend on the plan. Keep request rates modest either way.

Signing in

  • ▸Username and password in the host:port:user:pass format that browsers, browser-profile tools and monitoring software accept.
  • ▸IP whitelist: add your office or server address in the dashboard, and anything connecting from it gets in without credentials, which suits shared office lines and scheduled jobs.

Both work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and the protocol can be changed later in the dashboard at no extra charge.

Match the IP to the market you report on

Search rankings, prices, ads and even which products appear can change with the visitor's country. Set the IP to the market your client or campaign targets, and the screenshots and figures your team files will line up with what customers there are shown.

  • ✓55+ countries to choose from.
  • ✓City-level targeting where the network supports it.
  • ✓One country per check keeps month-on-month results comparable.

When a report doesn't match what the client sees on the ground, the IP's country is one of the first things to check.

How the four plans compare

Every plan bills per GB. The highlighted row is the plan we suggest for this work.

Plan Trust level Speed Cost From, per GB Where it fits
Datacenter Standard ★★★★★ $ $3.50 Bulk page checks, rank tracking and QA on your own sites
Residential Suggested High ★★★ $$ $3.99 Local prices, search results, ads and marketplaces
Residential Premium Very high ★★★★ $$$ $6.50 Demanding sites, brand protection and client work
Mobile 4G/5G Very high ★★★ $$$$ $4.50 Apps built for phones and ads served on mobile networks

The rate charged is the one shown for the live plan at checkout.

Keeping Data Collection work within the rules

We sell these proxies for legitimate business work: market and price research, ad verification, SEO, brand protection, QA and compliant automation, including running your own accounts inside each platform's rules. Whatever your team does through them has to stay within the terms of service of every site involved and the law that applies to you and your clients.

  • ✓Collect only publicly available information, and pace requests so the site isn't put under strain.
  • ✓No proxy can promise that an account escapes action by the platform. That depends mostly on how the account is used and whether it follows the terms.
  • ✓Personal details in collected pages, such as names, contact details or reviews, bring data-protection duties with them. Agree with your legal team what you keep and for how long.

The full rules are in our acceptable use policy.

Data Collection proxies: questions from team leads

Research commonly uses content that sites make publicly available, but each site's terms and the applicable law still bind you, including copyright and data-protection rules. Favour published datasets, keep personal data out unless you have a lawful basis, and collect public pages at a measured rate.
Run a pilot on a sample of sources, measure the gigabytes it uses, then scale from that figure. Each order is billed per GB and expires after a fixed validity period, so several right-sized orders suit a long project better than one large order bought up front.
Yes. Public availability makes content usable for much research, but each site's terms of service, along with copyright and data-protection law, still set the limits.
Datacenter for light, unprotected public pages where cost matters most, and rotating residential for sources that protect themselves.
Because a training set should reflect what people in each region actually read. Sources often localise content or slow down repeat visitors, and a household IP in the region returns the same public page its residents get.
No. Only the outbound connection changes; storage, parsing and the rest of the pipeline carry on exactly as they do now.

Refunds

Proxies that fail on arrival can be reported to support for up to 24 hours after delivery. Support swaps them, and where a working swap isn't possible, refunds the affected amount. Details are in the refund policy.

Support

People answer tickets 24/7. Open one from the Support page in your dashboard and include the order reference.

Logs

Our records cover billing and how much bandwidth each order used. The URLs, page content and destinations your team reaches are never logged.
