What teams use Alibaba proxies for

Marketplace and e-commerce teams use them to see listings, prices, delivery promises and search placement the way shoppers in each market do, and to test their own storefronts before a launch.

▸ Supplier shortlisting
▸ Tracking B2B prices and MOQs
▸ Comparing regional catalogues
▸ Buyer accounts per client (within Alibaba's terms)

Sourcing on Alibaba.com: supplier checks for procurement teams

Procurement and private-label teams use Alibaba.com to shortlist suppliers, compare quotes and track prices on items they reorder. Most of that happens signed in, through messages, requests for quotation and orders. Proxies help with the public side: seeing listings, shipping estimates and supplier storefronts the way a buyer in each of your destination markets would.

Supplier vetting on public profiles

Before contacting anyone, analysts review supplier storefronts for years on the platform, Verified Supplier status, product range and response details. Doing this from residential IPs in your buying country shows the storefront version and shipping options your colleagues will see.

Tracking prices on repeat purchases

Teams buying the same components each quarter snapshot listed tier prices and minimum order quantities, then compare them with negotiated quotes. A scheduled, low-volume check of the relevant listings is enough; nobody needs to crawl whole categories.

Orders stay on the platform

Trade Assurance covers orders paid through Alibaba.com. Keep negotiation and payment inside the platform rather than paying by off-platform transfer, and keep company buyer accounts on the office's normal connection, apart from research proxies.

Plan choice

Residential with country targeting per destination market covers listing and shipping checks. Product pages are photo-heavy, so limit screenshots and schedule checks weekly unless a purchase decision is pending. Datacenter is enough for internal dashboards that link to listings.

The plan we suggest for Alibaba

We suggest Residential here. Traffic leaves through household broadband connections in the country you pick, so pages load as they would for an ordinary customer there. What Alibaba shows depends on where the visitor is: language, currency and even which supplier listings come up. It also throttles heavy datacenter traffic. A sourcing team needs a faithful regional view and steady access, and residential IPs from real ISPs provide both for public research where datacenter ranges get slowed down.

✓

Region-correct supplier views

Alibaba adapts language, currency and listing visibility to the visitor's location. A residential IP in the market you buy for shows the supplier pages and prices a buyer there gets, so your comparisons are like for like.

✓

Scalable sourcing research

Shortlisting suppliers means comparing MOQs and price breaks across many products. Rotating residential IPs collect that public data at a controlled pace, without the throttling that halts datacenter requests early.

✓

Buyer account isolation

Agencies sourcing for several clients, or companies with buyers in more than one office, can run each legitimate buyer account in its own sticky residential session, within Alibaba's terms. Sessions stay apart and no account inherits a flagged connection.

✓

Flexible auth and delivery

Staff laptops can sign in with a username and password, or the office IP can be whitelisted so no password gets passed around. HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 are included, delivery is instant, and per-GB billing lets cost grow only as the research does.

Matching each job to a plan

Most teams run more than one kind of job. Data is bought per plan, so volume checks can sit on a lower-cost plan while the jobs that need a household or carrier connection get one.

Several markets, one order

MIX packages are ready-made residential pools covering several countries at once, so a multi-market report can run from a single order.

Getting the team set up

Four steps take a team from order to first check, using the browsers and tools it already works with.

1

Size the order

Start on Residential, the plan suggested above, and choose how many gigabytes the work needs. The proxy calculator shows the total first.

2

Pay by card or crypto

Stripe handles card payments and Cryptomus handles crypto. Each order is a one-off, valid for 30 days, with no subscription to cancel.

3

Set the market

Choose countries in the dashboard after payment, so one order can serve one client market this week and another the next. If a job needs a single city, ask support whether the network covers it.

4

Give the team access

The dashboard shows the login details once the payment has gone through. Pass them to the colleagues who need them, or whitelist the office IP so nobody has to type a password.

Rotation or a sticky session?

  • ▸Per-request rotation moves every request to a different IP. Use it for wide, read-only sweeps of public pages, such as price lists or search results.
  • ▸Sticky sessions hold one IP for a window you choose, typically 1-30 minutes, for signed-in or multi-step tasks such as stepping through a client's checkout.

Both are switched in the dashboard, and the options on offer depend on the plan. Keep request rates modest either way.

Signing in

  • ▸Username and password in the host:port:user:pass format that browsers, browser-profile tools and monitoring software accept.
  • ▸IP whitelist: add your office or server address in the dashboard, and anything connecting from it gets in without credentials, which suits shared office lines and scheduled jobs.

Both work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and the protocol can be changed later in the dashboard at no extra charge.

Match the IP to the market you report on

Search rankings, prices, ads and even which products appear can change with the visitor's country. Set the IP to the market your client or campaign targets, and the screenshots and figures your team files will line up with what customers there are shown.

  • ✓55+ countries to choose from.
  • ✓City-level targeting where the network supports it.
  • ✓One country per check keeps month-on-month results comparable.

When a report doesn't match what the client sees on the ground, the IP's country is one of the first things to check.

How the four plans compare

Every plan bills per GB. The highlighted row is the plan we suggest for this work.

Keeping Alibaba work within the rules

We sell these proxies for legitimate business work: market and price research, ad verification, SEO, brand protection, QA and compliant automation, including running your own accounts inside each platform's rules. Whatever your team does through them has to stay within the terms of service of every site involved and the law that applies to you and your clients.

  • ✓Collect only publicly available information, and pace requests so the site isn't put under strain.
  • ✓No proxy can promise that an account escapes action by the platform. That depends mostly on how the account is used and whether it follows the terms.
  • ✓Personal details in collected pages, such as names, contact details or reviews, bring data-protection duties with them. Agree with your legal team what you keep and for how long.

The full rules are in our acceptable use policy.

Alibaba proxies: questions from team leads

There's no need. Signed-in work, including messages, quotations and Trade Assurance orders, belongs on your normal office connection under each buyer's own account. Use the proxy only for signed-out views of listings and storefronts from destination markets. Keeping the two apart also makes account activity easier to audit.
Only a little. That site is a Chinese-language marketplace built for buyers inside China, with its own terms, payment and logistics setup, so signed-out page views tell you less than you'd hope. Many importers work through a sourcing agent there, then compare landed costs including shipping and minimum quantities.
Rotating residential. Supplier views match the region, requests arrive from ordinary consumer connections, and collection of public data carries on long after datacenter IPs would have been rate-limited.
Often. Language, currency and which listings appear all follow location, so the most representative supplier and price data comes from an IP in your target market. Research the region you actually buy for.
On small, occasional checks, possibly. For a sourcing project of any size they rarely last, because Alibaba challenges and rate-limits datacenter ranges fast; residential rotation is the dependable choice for bigger pulls.
Keep to public listings, collected at sensible request rates and within Alibaba's terms and applicable law. Stay out of areas you aren't authorised to use: proxies are for clean, legitimate research, not for working around access restrictions.

Refunds

Proxies that fail on arrival can be reported to support for up to 24 hours after delivery. Support swaps them, and where a working swap isn't possible, refunds the affected amount. Details are in the refund policy.

Support

People answer tickets 24/7. Open one from the Support page in your dashboard and include the order reference.

Logs

Our records cover billing and how much bandwidth each order used. The URLs, page content and destinations your team reaches are never logged.
