What teams use ASOS proxies for

Marketplace and e-commerce teams use them to see listings, prices, delivery promises and search placement the way shoppers in each market do, and to test their own storefronts before a launch.

▸ Market-by-market price intelligence
▸ Alerts when sizes come back in stock
▸ Following drops and new releases
▸ Range-planning research

ASOS for brands and retail analysts: market checks that hold up

ASOS sells a long list of third-party brands alongside its own labels, so suppliers, competitors and analysts all keep watch on it. Typical team jobs are confirming how a brand's range is presented on each regional storefront, benchmarking prices and promotions by market, and noting when stock runs short. All of it runs on public pages, signed out, away from customer accounts.

Range and content audits for suppliers

Brands selling through ASOS check that product names, images, size guides and prices are right on the UK, US, French and German storefronts. Residential IPs with country targeting let a reviewer see each one as a local shopper does.

Promotion and price benchmarking

Retail analysts log discount depth and promotion timing on ASOS by country, since sale events may not run identically across regions. Rotating residential sessions suit broad snapshots, while sticky sessions suit a reviewer walking one category page by page.

Delivery and returns policies

Delivery charges and returns terms vary by market, and ASOS introduced a returns fee for UK customers in 2024. Policy and customer-experience teams record these per country from ASOS's public help pages, which needs no account.

Setting the team up

Assign markets to named reviewers, use residential with country targeting for each, schedule checks for fixed times each week and store screenshots with the date and exit country. Billing is per GB, and image-heavy category pages are where usage goes.

The plan we suggest for ASOS

We suggest Residential here. Traffic leaves through household broadband connections in the country you pick, so pages load as they would for an ordinary customer there. ASOS chooses the storefront you see, with its prices, currency and catalogue, from your IP, and it screens the site for bots. A competitor price report built on the wrong storefront misleads more than it helps. Residential IPs from consumer ISPs load the market-correct pages and meet far fewer checks than datacenter ranges.

✓

Region-accurate pricing

Prices, currencies and in-stock items vary from one ASOS market to the next. A residential IP in the market you report on loads the storefront local shoppers get, so the price file reflects that market and not your office's location.

✓

Fewer bot-mitigation challenges

Scheduled price and stock checks are only useful if they finish. On ASOS, datacenter ranges are blocked as a matter of course while consumer-ISP addresses meet far fewer challenges, so monitoring of public pages completes on time at rates that respect ASOS's terms.

✓

Drop and restock monitoring

Merchandisers following limited drops and restocks can poll public product and availability pages frequently through rotating residential IPs, spreading requests out instead of stalling on the rate limits that datacenter traffic meets.

✓

Account isolation when needed

If your team runs more than one ASOS account for legitimate reasons, keep each one in its own sticky residential session. Sessions stay clean, and no account ends up on a connection that has already been flagged.

Matching each job to a plan

Most teams run more than one kind of job. Data is bought per plan, so volume checks can sit on a lower-cost plan while the jobs that need a household or carrier connection get one.

Several markets, one order

MIX packages are ready-made residential pools covering several countries at once, so a multi-market report can run from a single order.

Getting the team set up

Four steps take a team from order to first check, using the browsers and tools it already works with.

1

Size the order

Start on Residential, the plan suggested above, and choose how many gigabytes the work needs. The proxy calculator shows the total first.

2

Pay by card or crypto

Stripe handles card payments and Cryptomus handles crypto. Each order is a one-off, valid for 30 days, with no subscription to cancel.

3

Set the market

Choose countries in the dashboard after payment, so one order can serve one client market this week and another the next. If a job needs a single city, ask support whether the network covers it.

4

Give the team access

The dashboard shows the login details once the payment has gone through. Pass them to the colleagues who need them, or whitelist the office IP so nobody has to type a password.

Rotation or a sticky session?

  • ▸Per-request rotation moves every request to a different IP. Use it for wide, read-only sweeps of public pages, such as price lists or search results.
  • ▸Sticky sessions hold one IP for a window you choose, typically 1-30 minutes, for signed-in or multi-step tasks such as stepping through a client's checkout.

Both are switched in the dashboard, and the options on offer depend on the plan. Keep request rates modest either way.

Signing in

  • ▸Username and password in the host:port:user:pass format that browsers, browser-profile tools and monitoring software accept.
  • ▸IP whitelist: add your office or server address in the dashboard, and anything connecting from it gets in without credentials, which suits shared office lines and scheduled jobs.

Both work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and the protocol can be changed later in the dashboard at no extra charge.

Match the IP to the market you report on

Search rankings, prices, ads and even which products appear can change with the visitor's country. Set the IP to the market your client or campaign targets, and the screenshots and figures your team files will line up with what customers there are shown.

  • ✓55+ countries to choose from.
  • ✓City-level targeting where the network supports it.
  • ✓One country per check keeps month-on-month results comparable.

When a report doesn't match what the client sees on the ground, the IP's country is one of the first things to check.

How the four plans compare

Every plan bills per GB. The highlighted row is the plan we suggest for this work.

The rate charged is the one shown for the live plan at checkout.

Keeping ASOS work within the rules

We sell these proxies for legitimate business work: market and price research, ad verification, SEO, brand protection, QA and compliant automation, including running your own accounts inside each platform's rules. Whatever your team does through them has to stay within the terms of service of every site involved and the law that applies to you and your clients.

  • ✓Collect only publicly available information, and pace requests so the site isn't put under strain.
  • ✓No proxy can promise that an account escapes action by the platform. That depends mostly on how the account is used and whether it follows the terms.
  • ✓Personal details in collected pages, such as names, contact details or reviews, bring data-protection duties with them. Agree with your legal team what you keep and for how long.

The full rules are in our acceptable use policy.

ASOS proxies: questions from team leads

We don't support that. Consumer checkout isn't a wholesale channel, so read ASOS's terms of sale first, and using proxies to multiply accounts or orders is something we won't set up. If you want ASOS-sold brands at volume, the route is a trade agreement with the brand or retailer.
Run a pilot week across your markets with residential and country targeting, note how much data it used, and set the monthly per-GB order from that. Category pages are image-heavy, so reduce screenshot frequency before reducing market coverage when you need to trim costs.
Rarely. Bot screening and location routing on ASOS mean datacenter IPs get flagged quickly and may even be shown distorted prices. Residential costs a little more per GB, and in return your reports are built on the region-correct pages.
It does. Pricing, currency and availability all follow the region, so the IP country decides which ASOS storefront your team is looking at. Set it to the market you report on, and keep one market per job so currencies never get mixed in one dataset.
For public price and stock checks, rotate, so the load spreads across many addresses. A sticky session is only needed for signed-in account work, where one stable connection should last from start to finish.
Publicly available product, price and stock information, gathered at reasonable rates within ASOS's terms and applicable law. Logged-in areas and personal data are off limits; proxies make legitimate research more reliable and are not a way round access controls.

Refunds

Proxies that fail on arrival can be reported to support for up to 24 hours after delivery. Support swaps them, and where a working swap isn't possible, refunds the affected amount. Details are in the refund policy.

Support

People answer tickets 24/7. Open one from the Support page in your dashboard and include the order reference.

Logs

Our records cover billing and how much bandwidth each order used. The URLs, page content and destinations your team reaches are never logged.
