What teams use Etsy proxies for

Marketplace and e-commerce teams use them to see listings, prices, delivery promises and search placement the way shoppers in each market do, and to test their own storefronts before a launch.

▸ Running client shops (within Etsy's terms)
▸ Studying competitors' listings and tags
▸ Currency and shipping checks abroad
▸ Etsy SEO keyword research

Etsy for seller teams and agencies: market checks and price research

Teams behind Etsy shops, from in-house staff to agencies serving several makers, mostly need to see public pages through a buyer's eyes: how a listing reads in German or French, what shipping a buyer in Canada is quoted, and how competing shops price similar pieces. Those viewing jobs suit country-targeted residential IPs. Running the shops themselves belongs in Etsy's Shop Manager, under the account rules Etsy sets for sellers.

Translation and listing QA

Etsy lets sellers add their own translations for the languages it supports. Reviewing listings from a residential IP in Germany or Italy shows the page much as a local shopper sees it, with currency and shipping lines included, so mistakes surface before the busy season.

Pricing research before entering a market

Sellers expanding into a new country compare what similar handmade and vintage pieces are listed at there, and how much shipping adds, before fixing their own prices. A residential IP in that country returns search results and prices as a signed-out local buyer gets them.

How the team sets it up

Give each researcher a sticky session per market so a search, a listing and its shipping details load from one address. Shop Manager logins stay on the owner's usual connection; the proxy plan is for looking at public pages, not for operating shops.

Which plan fits listing research

Standard residential covers this work. Try residential premium only for a market where standard results come back patchy, and check usage in the dashboard after the first round to size the next order. Mobile 4G/5G adds cost without changing what a desktop buyer sees.

The plan we suggest for Etsy

We suggest Residential here. Traffic leaves through household broadband connections in the country you pick, so pages load as they would for an ordinary customer there. An agency that runs shops for several clients has two jobs on Etsy: keep each shop's sign-ins separate, and research the market without being blocked. Etsy links shops that share an IP and distrusts sign-ups from datacenter and VPN ranges, so residential IPs from home ISPs, carrying the household reputation of a genuine seller, suit both jobs.

✓

One household IP per shop

Give each client's shop its own sticky session on a consumer-ISP address, the way every seller working from home has a connection of their own, so two shops don't share an IP while they work. Separate shops then stay separate, inside Etsy's account rules.

✓

Listing & price research at scale

Keyword and competitor research takes a lot of public listing, tag and pricing data. Rotating residential IPs collect it in volume without the rate limits that cut datacenter requests short.

✓

Accurate geo-pricing checks

Visitors in the US, UK, DE or AU can be shown different currencies, shipping estimates and featured listings. Country-level residential IPs show your team what a buyer in each market sees before you set prices or shipping profiles.

✓

Tool-ready authentication

Whatever your staff work in, whether an Etsy management dashboard, a profile-based browser or a research script you wrote yourselves, the proxies connect over HTTP/HTTPS or SOCKS5 with username/password or IP-whitelist login.

Matching each job to a plan

Most teams run more than one kind of job. Data is bought per plan, so volume checks can sit on a lower-cost plan while the jobs that need a household or carrier connection get one.

Several markets, one order

MIX packages are ready-made residential pools covering several countries at once, so a multi-market report can run from a single order.

Getting the team set up

Four steps take a team from order to first check, using the browsers and tools it already works with.

1

Size the order

Start on Residential, the plan suggested above, and choose how many gigabytes the work needs. The proxy calculator shows the total first.

2

Pay by card or crypto

Stripe handles card payments and Cryptomus handles crypto. Each order is a one-off, valid for 30 days, with no subscription to cancel.

3

Set the market

Choose countries in the dashboard after payment, so one order can serve one client market this week and another the next. If a job needs a single city, ask support whether the network covers it.

4

Give the team access

The dashboard shows the login details once the payment has gone through. Pass them to the colleagues who need them, or whitelist the office IP so nobody has to type a password.

Rotation or a sticky session?

  • ▸Per-request rotation moves every request to a different IP. Use it for wide, read-only sweeps of public pages, such as price lists or search results.
  • ▸Sticky sessions hold one IP for a window you choose, typically 1-30 minutes, for signed-in or multi-step tasks such as stepping through a client's checkout.

Both are switched in the dashboard, and the options on offer depend on the plan. Keep request rates modest either way.

Signing in

  • ▸Username and password in the host:port:user:pass format that browsers, browser-profile tools and monitoring software accept.
  • ▸IP whitelist: add your office or server address in the dashboard, and anything connecting from it gets in without credentials, which suits shared office lines and scheduled jobs.

Both work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and the protocol can be changed later in the dashboard at no extra charge.

Match the IP to the market you report on

Search rankings, prices, ads and even which products appear can change with the visitor's country. Set the IP to the market your client or campaign targets, and the screenshots and figures your team files will line up with what customers there are shown.

  • ✓55+ countries to choose from.
  • ✓City-level targeting where the network supports it.
  • ✓One country per check keeps month-on-month results comparable.

When a report doesn't match what the client sees on the ground, the IP's country is one of the first things to check.

How the four plans compare

Every plan bills per GB. The highlighted row is the plan we suggest for this work.

Plan Trust level Speed Cost From, per GB Where it fits
Datacenter Standard ★★★★★ $ $3.50 Bulk page checks, rank tracking and QA on your own sites
Residential Suggested High ★★★ $$ $3.99 Local prices, search results, ads and marketplaces
Residential Premium Very high ★★★★ $$$ $6.50 Demanding sites, brand protection and client work
Mobile 4G/5G Very high ★★★ $$$$ $4.50 Apps built for phones and ads served on mobile networks

The rate charged is the one shown for the live plan at checkout.

Keeping Etsy work within the rules

We sell these proxies for legitimate business work: market and price research, ad verification, SEO, brand protection, QA and compliant automation, including running your own accounts inside each platform's rules. Whatever your team does through them has to stay within the terms of service of every site involved and the law that applies to you and your clients.

  • ✓Collect only publicly available information, and pace requests so the site isn't put under strain.
  • ✓No proxy can promise that an account escapes action by the platform. That depends mostly on how the account is used and whether it follows the terms.
  • ✓Personal details in collected pages, such as names, contact details or reviews, bring data-protection duties with them. Agree with your legal team what you keep and for how long.

The full rules are in our acceptable use policy.

Etsy proxies: questions from team leads

Work on each shop only with its owner's permission and inside Etsy's seller policies, which are the place to check before anyone operates more than one shop. A proxy doesn't change how Etsy treats related accounts, so we don't offer it as a way to keep shops apart; use it for the public research.
Listing pages load several product photos and sometimes a short video, so cost follows how many listings a round opens rather than how long it takes. Each order runs for a fixed term and unused data expires with it, so buy for one round at a time. Cards go through Stripe and crypto through Cryptomus.
Because Etsy connects shops that share an address, alongside other signals, and several busy shops on one IP often end in links or suspensions. A separate sticky session per client shop keeps them independent, and since billing is per GB with no per-proxy fee, an extra shop costs only the traffic it uses.
We can't promise that, and neither can anyone else. Etsy suspends shops mostly over policy, fees, fulfilment and review patterns, not the IP; a clean residential connection takes away one risk, and keeping to Etsy's seller policies handles the rest.
Anything signed in, like editing listings or handling orders, belongs on a sticky residential IP so the session keeps one address. Rotation is for read-only public research such as gathering competitor listings and keywords.
Straight away. Delivery is instant after purchase, and the HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 formats, with username/password or IP-whitelist login, are what management dashboards, profile-based browsers and scraping libraries already expect.

Refunds

Proxies that fail on arrival can be reported to support for up to 24 hours after delivery. Support swaps them, and where a working swap isn't possible, refunds the affected amount. Details are in the refund policy.

Support

People answer tickets 24/7. Open one from the Support page in your dashboard and include the order reference.

Logs

Our records cover billing and how much bandwidth each order used. The URLs, page content and destinations your team reaches are never logged.
