What Are ISP Proxies? Static Residential IPs for Account Work
ISP proxies, also called static residential proxies, combine two things teams usually have to choose between. Each address is registered to a consumer ISP, which makes websites treat it like a home connection, while the machine behind it is hosted on fast datacenter infrastructure, which gives it the speed and stability of a server.
The result is high trust and quick responses on a fixed IP: a good match for logged-in, session-based work such as looking after brand or client accounts. This guide covers where ISP proxies fit in a team’s work, how an ISP proxy compares with ordinary datacenter IPs and rotating residential ones, and what to order here. We don’t sell ISP proxies as a separate plan; for steady-IP work, Residential Premium can hold one IP through a sticky session. Whatever you use, keep to legitimate work and each site’s terms of service.
We write these guides for e-commerce, marketing and agency teams that pay for proxies by the gigabyte.
Team work that suits a static IP
A static, high-trust address pays off in a few kinds of team work:
- Logged-in sessions — a team member signs in and works from the same address until signing out.
- A company account managed from one unchanging IP, within the platform’s terms.
- Fast work on protected sites — jobs where datacenter IPs lack the trust and rotating residential IPs lack the speed.
No proxy, static or otherwise, can promise how a platform will treat an account; its terms apply whatever the IP.
How ISP proxies work
The trick is in the registration. A hosting company acquires a block of addresses registered to a consumer ISP and runs them on its own servers. A site that looks up the owning network (its ASN) finds a residential ISP and grants the trust it gives home connections.
The hardware answering for that address, however, sits in a data centre with fast connections that nobody else is competing for. The result reads like a home connection to the site, performs like a server for your team, and keeps a static address for as long as it is rented.
The middle ground between server and household IPs
The table places ISP proxies between the other two. For a closer head-to-head, read ISP vs residential proxies.
| Attribute | ISP | Datacenter | Residential |
|---|---|---|---|
| IP registration | Consumer ISP | Cloud / hosting | Consumer ISP |
| Hosted on | Datacenter infrastructure | Datacenter infrastructure | Real home connections |
| Trust | High | Lower | High |
| Speed | Fast | Very fast | Medium |
| IP behaviour | Static | Static | Rotating |
Three strengths in one address
ISP proxies borrow something from each of the main tiers:
- Residential-level trust — because the owning network is a consumer ISP, protected sites score the address as they would a home line.
- Datacenter speed — fast hosting keeps latency low and throughput high, so tools and dashboards stay responsive.
- A fixed IP — the address never rotates, which suits sessions and accounts that expect the same origin every time.
For contrast, datacenter proxies are quick but earn less trust, while rotating residential proxies earn high trust but run slower and change IP often.
What our plans offer in place of ISP
Cheapest Proxies doesn’t sell ISP proxies as a product of their own. When an account manager or social media lead needs one trusted address through a logged-in task, the option here is a sticky session on Residential Premium, from $6.50/GB. It keeps one household IP from our premium residential tier for the length of the session, rather than one datacenter-hosted IP for the whole order. HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 are supported, with username/password or IP-whitelist authentication.
Every tier’s rate is listed on the pricing page. To size a job first, use the proxy calculator; to start straight away, buy now for instant delivery in 55+ countries.
Match the pool to the workflow
Every pool is billed per GB and run from the same dashboard, so one team can keep low-cost volume work and high-trust checks side by side.
High-volume collection from unprotected sites, automation, SEO tools
Market research, ad verification and geo-accurate checks on protected sites
Phone-first platforms, app and mobile ad testing
